Pilot Jet and Pilot air Jet

Recommended Posts

I searched and seen somebody had posted a chart regarding what pilot air jet to use with the corresponding pilot jet. Well my pilot circuit was running a bit lean so I richened it up with a #45 pilot jet and will be trying the #40 and #50 leak jets this week. Should I have to change my pilot air jet to accomodate the new leak jet and #45 pilot jet?

That chart is for use if you have an adjustable PAJ, and you want to maintain a constant A/F ratio. The stock PAJ should be fine for pilot jets from 40 to 45, and perhaps a little farther in either direction. If you change both the PJ, and the PAJ the same amount (on a percentage basis), you don't change the air/fuel ratio.

If you're increasing your pilot jet to a 45, you're doing that because you want to richen the mixture at low throttle settings. If you also increase the PAJ, that undoes what you're trying to do.
