CRF50 weight limit

Is it really 88 lbs?My sister wants to get one for her short 100lb 6year old but is worried about the weight limit.

Dealer say's adults ride them all day with no problem................

that bike is stock exept for a bar kit. he weighs about double the limit.

Hey im more then double the limit and all i have is upgraded suspension and a big bar kit and i've been clocked at 55kmh on a gravel road. So power wont be a problem and suspension wont be a worry either

Good info. While I am waiting for the dealership to send me the owner's manual they forgot to give me, I was wondering what the max weight was...wasn't thrilled having the overweight sales clown drive it from the shop to the truck, but whatever...see lots of adults riding them, so assume no harm, no foul.

So 88lbs is the recommended max weight?

Big "kids" can ride these things all day long on smooth ground. Once these things get used aggressively as shown in the second post, something will give. If big kids/adults jump these things a lot, watch out for the swingarm. They've been known to crack at the shock mount. Also, the steering head bearings are just ball bearings. Not exactly a robust design.

I'm 235#'s and I;ve ridden my daughters around the hood while winterizing it or when I was messing witht eh carb. I think a 100# kid would be fine.

I ride my son's all the time and I weigh 185lbs. Man...100lbs for a 6yr old?! Was that a typo?
