Nice shots, did he get through the whole ride without the RXV breaking down?

:D Rxv still working, but mate tell me about some ringing noises .. so i think wallet RIP is coming :ride: my Drz is waiting for valve adjustment (have 0.20 both exhaust valves barely and intake 0.10.. i would like centered to service limits (drz is 2005 with 14000+- km) :) after valv adjustment i make 3x3 hole to airbox and mount JD jet kit and new oil, filters etc.. iam curious about the difference from stock to jet kit and 3x3 (exhaust stock).. some ideas about clip of needle in carb in JD set? iam riding about 1500 feet sea level .. actually mount mask and fender from ktm sx-f, exc-f 2013-14 and i love it   like rear fender :jawdrop: btw still waiting on new blinkers .. philosofic question - stock exhaust vs stock pipe and open muffler from some 4t 450 .. can HPs go up with this open muffler or its only sound efect? :):smashpc:

That looks good on the front of the DRZ. Wallet ripping from RXV or DRZ ? You own them both ?

Mostly sound effects with open muffler, small header pipe is a restriction and the carb size. Needle clip and jetting, you will just have to experiment your self, all bikes and conditions are slightly different.

I have a drz400s with a +4mm stroker kit. I was running a 4 layer base gasket to lower the compression bit ended up blowing a head gasket anyway from not tightening down the head enough ( did the 34.5 from the factory manual saw on here it was supposed to be 43). Now when the head gasket blew the head warped slightly so I got it resurfaced. When I got it resurfaced the machinest said he had to take .07 inches off which seems like a lot to me. Now with a stroker and that reduction in clearance I'm worried about where the compression ratio is. Has anyone in a similar situation got any insight? Should I be alright with a 4 layer base gasket or am I sitting on a ticking time bomb. Thanks.

Hi guys, my friend is selling his 2007 RM85 for $500 right now and I need to hear more opinions on if it is worth it or not. I believe that it has a blown top end, the forks are out of oil, radiators have no fluids, and its overall a kind of ratty bike. I want to buy it from him and do a top end, clean it up, re-do the fork seals and fill the forks up, and just rebuild it in general. Is this worth the $500? I do NOT want to have to replate this thing or do a bottom end. I want to fix it up and make money. Is it worth it?

FCR 41 Carb off a KTM 450 SX-F. Great upgrade for DRZ400, KLX400, DR650, XR650 with a stock carb. Complete carb and comes with throttle cables and throttle tube assembly. This has the integrated hot start so no need for an additional cable or purchaser of hot start lever perch (if needed). Also has adjustable A/F screw and "oring" mod with grip wire already installed.
Buy the correct boots or adapters for your applications, jet according, and enjoy the increased power and throttle response. Was originally purchased for my DRZ400 440 Big bore project but ended up not purchasing the 440 kit and kept a FCR39 on the bike instead. Can pretty much fit any 400+ CC bike with proper adapters/boots.
Will ship to lower 48. Feel free to ask any questions if you have any. PM or Email is quickest
      Thanks for looking

      Hey guys,
I am really needing some good advice here from anybody who has ever owned or rebuilt classic Yamaha 2 strokes (1989 - 1994). I live in South Africa, and bought a little farm thumper while on holiday this past weekend. It was advertised as a DT175 which is a bike that is easy to get parts for down here. It has been cosmetically customized and looks pretty darn cool... and lets face it, all the old classic Yamaha 2T engines look the same at a glance! So I genuinely thought it was a naked DT. The bike had no papers, and was used purely for the farmer to putt around on his farm.
The only things needing attention was the stator cover which had snapped in half - this was visibly noticeable, and a little leak from a badly resealed gasket (both generally easy and cheap to fix here). The bike was still running and idling fine, started first kick, and I had a little ride around the farm before loading the bike up onto my pickup and heading off, thinking I could fix this thing up nicely in no time for next to nothing, and have what we call down in SA "a nuwe speelgoed" (A new plaything) for the weekends when I am not riding my beloved and reliable DRZ400SM.
SO, I get home and decide to contact our local Yamaha branch, out of interest, to find out the history of the bike before I start fiddling (Don't ask me why I did not do this all before I bought the bike - It was a spur of the moment purchase, and was sold to me for dirt cheap!). I send off the VIN and engine number. Comes back, and this little freakin' turd turns out to be a 1989 TDR180!! WHAT. But now I am stuck as we do not really have TDR's down here - and I have never even seen one myself.
Long story short - What alternative could I use as a stator cover? Do any other old Yamaha 2T model stator covers fit the TDR or share similar engine parts? Ordering from Ebay is so expensive thanks to my country being in junk status due to a junk president. So the shipping costs more than the actual item does, and our customs is a joke too. Yamaha has also advised me that this stator cover has been discontinued.
I have put up local ads looking for parts, contacted FB 2T groups, and local shops. Nothing for TDR's has come back yet.
Any advice or sharing of experience is welcome!

Hitting your landing target is critical in motocross. It is also better for your health! Not only hitting your landing, but getting there quickly is also important. The two most common techniques regarding jumping are absorbing the take off to stay low and launching the take off to clear an obstacle, to make it to the landing.
