I really like that skid plate!
Home-made or store-bought?
If the latter, from where, what brand?

Looks like the Ricochet Racing skid plate. Best deal in skid plates if you ask me. You can get the ThumperTalk branded version for $95.

I live on the wrong side of the world - s&h from the US of A to Europe is just painful. :banghead:

Yeah its a Ricochet. 99.00 free shipping on Fleebay. Seems to cover a lot of the bottom. Haven't had a real chance to test it out because I'm a bigger guy and I didn't take the bike off road until I replaced front and rear springs with racetech. Using the factory Springs and a attempting  to go off road I would have been shooting Sparks and you would have seen me coming from a mile away or started a forest fire!🔥

Looks like a great big cymbal to amplify all those wonderful noises these engines make.

Next to mission creek, my break in ride with the new tank went well, about 40 miles with quite a bit of first gear slow forest roads. I plugged my vacuum hose with a bolt, no gas leaking or anything, success.IMG_20180517_113749498.jpegIMG_20180517_113759813.jpeg

I actually just saw a drz on the road today here, but never seen one on the trails. I think it's nearly perfect for the forest roads on this side.

Sonora pass, Ca.

Too much snow for an extended ride, but a good one anyway. Rode thru or around many snow drifts.

Took the bike to the top of Porters Pass (939m, 3080ft) to the west of the Canterbury plains yesterday it was 5deg C at the top.  The bike ran flawlessly. I got 55MPG on the trip and did 302kms total.  I did a few side roads along the way to make it interesting. I think its time to fit the 21/18 wheel set and go further afield.20180520_222858342_iOS.jpg.a2a21dff1c68ec62453c4537ba11dfe7.jpg  Looking east - you can just see a truck on the pass

Looking west you can see the Southern Alps.
