Speedo drive for DRZ 400S with 17 wheels

Recommended Posts

I've got 17's on my 400s. I haven't recalibrated my speedo.

Does anyone know how far out it is in this setup. From my ob's i'd say it's 10km/h above what i'm doing.

Is that about right?

Cheers

Kem

I recently got a GPS for my '05 S that I swap to SM. With the stock S sprockets/gearing/speedo drive, here are my numbers:

Indicated 79 mph = 65 mph actual (21.5% high)

Indicated 27.4 miles = 23.1 actual miles (18.6% high)

The TT store has 2 different speedo drives for S ad SM. When I went to SM wheels on my S, I ordered the SM drive. You need to save the Phillips screw from your original drive and use it in the replaement drive.

If you dont switch drives you will be about 20% off. One guy posted his top speed (with orig speedo on converted wheels) at like 120 something.

Way off!

The drive does not show up on the TT OEM store online parts list, you have to call. They also had the best price even including shipping and $9.99 fee.
