Question about number plate mounting

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a 2005 YZ250f number plate for my 05' WR250f. I mounted the ignition switch on the bars and all that, then zip-tied the number plate on. It fit well and everything, but it is still a little loose.

Has anyone tried cutting the pins and drilling holes through the bottom mount? There are already threads there on the WR where the headlight mount went. I did a search about this and got no results. I am worried that if I try it, the plastic will be too weak and break, or that the mount is not wide enough to drill a hole through. It souns like a simple process; cut off two plastic pins and drill two holes through the plastic, but when you look at it closely, it seems a little bit more complicated.

If anyone has ever done this, please gove me some tips or something.

Thanks!
