What did you do to your WR today?

Recommended Posts

So I have been reading post on ThumperTalk for some time now but I have mostly focused on the KTM threads as I ride a 2008 KTM 450 EXC-R. Recently my 17 year old son (Cody) purchased a 2006 WR450F. Now I am reading what did you do to your bike today and I love all the post. Thank you all for taking the time. Anyways the bike runs like a Raped Ape and we absolutely love the bike. It was worth every penny and I would recommend the bike to anyone now. I have become a believer. Since his purchase he wanted to make it his own so he decided to put all new plastic and graphics on the bike. I thought this was great and it was only a few hundred to spruce up the bike. The only problem was once he was done he did not like the look of the headlight and wanted to get rid of it. I told him no as we only ride trails and some day he will need it and will be glad he still has it. As a compromise he talked me into building him new brackets to move the headlight back further which in turn allowed him to put a number plate in front making it look like a YZ. I thought this came out great so I wanted to share some pictures of what has been done. Now if we are caught in the dark he can pull one pin and the number plate is gone. Flip the switch and he is riding out with his light.

took the 07 up and down the street a couple times wide open just to get a rush, started taring down the 99... had one guy texting me about the 07 but he wanted me to go down $500 on the price and deliver 300 miles away

Took it out for a full day of shredding with the rebuilt suspension and modified carb. Good times on soggy wet trails. I'm thinking the suspension is just a little bit too harsh, especially coming from my stock setup. Another problem though is my front tire is long overdue to be changed, and my rear tire isn't much further away...

More on that to come. This weeks plans are to re-lace the rear wheel, and then change out the front and rear tires and see if they do any better!

I installed the FMF powercore 4 exhaust that just arrived. Freaking STUPID easy to install along with my Powerbomb header. It's probably the least involved instillation I've performed thus far! I've got to ride it around some to see how it handles/sounds, but so far so good! It's a big improvement over my old exhaust.

My old White Brothers E-series was kinda jenky, but it did the trick with some customization. Anyone want it for cheap?
