What did you do to your WR today?

These are both great bikes. Anyone that has ever built up a bike or even contemplated it knows that all the extras $$ add up. Price all that stuff out and then fugure in your "free" time and it adds up quick. If I had cash laying around I would have bought a bike like this but I had to buy new so I'll do it myself.

I know when I go to sell my WR, I'm going to take all that stuff off, put it as close back to stock as I can with shiny new plastics and graphics, and part out the aftermarket stuff I can't use on the next bike. 95% of average consumers don't care if I put $200 Mohard radiator guards on it, and probably don't want/need them in the first place. That's the cost of the plastics and graphics rights there, and that with a few other small and mostly free touches will make the bike look brand new. Edited by RockerYZWR

Well, that's an option as well.

Took it out for Christmas Eve and rode some of the best dirt conditions I have seen in a long time.

My buddies wanted to try some nice little step ups that we found , I opted out and just took pics of them .

I tore up the dunes and chased down some coyotes.  Nearly got one of the basterds, but he dipped when I dodged.  The sand was absolutely epic.  The MT43 I'm running on the back performed flawlessly.  Probably the best conditions I've ever seen.  Besides my neighbor, no one else there.  Santa brought a GoPro, so I'll be able to log my epic fails.

Like today, I was going up a steeper dune face and the front wheel came up.  I let off the throttle to bring it back down and it was coming down slowly and everything was going to be fine.  Stalled in third gear and laid it over.  Sand is soft is all I can say.

Installed new sprokets, chain, brake pads font & back and a head light bulb, on this 2012wr450, got it tuned up and ready to rip.

I threw a Rekluse Z-start Pro onto my 2013 WR450F.  The limp clutch lever is a little hard to get used to (even though you don't really need it), but other than that, I am totally happy with the product.  I've had the Core EXP on other bikes and this one seems to function just as well.

Suppose I should start putting this stuff on before the wife notices all the new parts laying around the garage.

Time for an oil change , new rotor , brake pads , brake line , chain , front sprocket ( recently did a suprsprox rear ), new vent lines,

clutch cable , super white headlight bulb and parts to rebuild the kickstand pivot ( kickstand is rubbing the swing arm ) .

Gotta love VP Racing Bike Wash .... 3 rides without a wash , crusty dirt/clay clods from 2 different places

without touching the bike and just a garden hose gets all sparkly clean .

You runnin a Lexx exhaust on that?

You runnin a Lexx exhaust on that?

Yep , almost 3 years now and it has held up great . Love the sound , buddy has the same bike and he has the FMF Q series

and we both like mine better .

I bought all 3 add on tips and the sparky insert........

Left is what it comes with , I use the 34mm insert with sparky screen (not in this pic) , and then center is 40 mm and 46 mm on the right.

The 34 mm is plenty loud enough and passes CA sound regs as well as makes great power .

IMHO the Lexx is worth every penny and have not regretted buying FMF .

I have one on my KLR 650.  The sparky "quiet" insert like yours on the left, cracked and came apart so now I run mine with nothing but a sparky screen inside(and what I believe is the 46m cone).  It is LOUD!!  You got a picture of the right side of your bike so I can see how it looks?  I like the one on my KLR, it was easy to repack and is way lighter than the recycled cannon barrel stock exhaust they come with.

Many miles/crashes/drops later . I thought the rear strap mount was going to be a problem but zero issues so far .

I am running a 130 rear tire and it still does not rub it either .

Nice!  I may go with a Lexx for my WR when the time comes.  I'm running the cone yours has in it in the middle picture on my KLR.  Makes it sound badass, well, as badass as a KLR can sound.  Lol!!
