What did you do to your WR today?

Installed '07 YZ 450f header and WB E2 after work today. Sounds wicked  Not too loud but not all that quiet either. Probably on par with the stock '07 YZ exhaust or a little quieter . The tone is is nice and throaty. And the throttle response is SUPER sharp now. Noticed a slight hesitation up top but one size fatter on the main will fix that. The fit of the E2 to the YZ header is super tight. Alot of effort, yelling, swearing, and throwing shit was needed to put it on.

Tomorrow's list includes rejetting  and fixing a flat :p

Careful now  . Don't forget who has the banning authority :p :p

I'll put up the pics when I post the ride report (in this thread). That exhaust looks so nice on there I'm seriously thinking about getting the white plastics now. My stimulus check is in grave danger :worthy:

Went for a ride with a buddy who just got his 06 wr, we took some pics and videos, and I climbed a wicked big hill, very rough, tried it three years in a row and finally got up to the top today (had the camera brought home then though

I installed my flatlands racing rad guards today. I am happy with them except for the fact that they don't cover the rads completely and leave a couple of rows of fins exposed on the inside edges.

Installed JD jet kit and a Zip Ty fuel screw. After first ride, . Cured all the surging, backfiring crap. Thanks to all who steered me toward this kit  .

Put on front and rear M6006 tires. New chain and sprockets. And then road it down the street to our little local track and attempted to look like I knew what i was doing. Didn't do very good at that.

Lost the decompression plug on my new (to me) 450. Ordered a new billet one from ebay.com but i live in the uk so i'll probobally be off the bike for a few weeks untill the part is shipped over. It sucks! I figured that while the bike is off the road i'd take the time to do the throttle stop and grey wire mods...but now im dying to run the bike to see what difference they have made and can't until the new plug arrives. That sucks even more!!!!

okay, I'm looking for help trying to locate whats not going right on my bike. here are the details.
PROBLEM: doesn't fire up, I kick and kick and it will fire a couple times, but won't take. and will occasionally backfire. it won't bump start, won't fire up with starting fluid. I don't have a lot of experience with dirtbike motors, but I get the concept.
What I've done: retimed it, put on a new timing chain, put on new piston rings, put new head gaskets on, put brand new valves shims in and adjusted them to factory, put a manual tensioner on it, removed the carb and cleaned it ALL. I don't get whats not right. I have spark, I have fuel, I have compression. is it normal to get fuel blow back through the back of the carb? not a lot but if I hold a paper over it and have my friend kick it you can see the paper get gas on it. which I find weird because, in order to have compression shouldn't my carb close all the way, there's always a slight gap on my gate in the carb, is that normal? I also read something about a stator key that if it's not sitting right you'll have spark, just not at the right time. or could it be my stator entirely? at this point I'm open to anything, I did not own it when it stopped, the guy said it ran, backfired and stopped. sounded like a timing issue or maybe shims, though I could fix it, he gave the bike to me for 900 bucks. said he didn't want to deal with it, so here I am.

How do you guys evaluate 2018 YZ performance in the hands of Bam Bam Barcia. i just compare his podium with the 2 podium yamaha have in 2017 . the last 2 podium which Web and Reed had ,were not the resulat of an awesome racing and bla bla . and now someone  use the potential of yamaha . if he continue the same for the next race !? BaaaaaaM
chad reed and Cooper Web po po on this bike ... and know we see how good is YZ in the hand of 51, who mentally wanna use his opportunity. i appreciate Barcia attitude , he come to the team with a positive mentality, he didnt come on YZ with - negative mentality.
