2006 Yz250f

Was there really a recall on the valves for this bike - does the original owner need to get it fixed - or will the factory honor it if a second owner brought the bike in

is there some way to find out any/all recall information on this bike

Yes there was a recall on the 2006 YZ250F because a batch of them had a bad intake valve. Not all of the 2006 YZ250F's got the bad valve put in them, but Yamaha recalled all of them to make the owners feel better. Any Yamaha dealer has to perform the recall for free even if you are not the original owner. If the bike has had the recall performed on it the dealer would have put a punch mark at the end of the VIN number. Look on the side of the steering head for the VIN number. If there is a dot after it then the recall has been performed.

Mine didn't have the Dot, but there was a record of the work having been done.

Take your Vin # into a Yamaha dealer and they will look it up easily.

Yes, call up your yami dealer and ask them. They will be able to look up if your bike has been done. I to was the second owner of an 06 and had the recall performed no problem.
