Just an observation from the 1st pic with the wheels on the ground (nice bike stand by the way!)

The rear of the bike looks quite higher than the front, would you by chance have excessively cranked up the preload on the rear shock spring?

Example, you'd weight about 200lbs and the stock spring rate is meant for a 150-160lbs rider.

Could also simply be that you are running a larger rear tire, I could be mistaken but that looks to be a 110/100-18.

(but Maxxis I/T's tend to run larger than other brands)

Hey i just noticed that your the guy that helped my with the yz125 a few months ago. Ended up getting this 2006 crf250x instead. Needed a headlight and battery and front wheel bearings, waiting on the bearings now.

This is my 2007.  Picked it up in September as a rolling chassis and 2 bins of engine parts, just got it going.  Entirely new top end with stainless valves, tubeless tires, rebuilt suspension and linkages. Ready to get it out for a real ride!

Thinking of buying a durelle racing gel seat and a new seat cover for the bike.

I had a 1" drop Durelle Racing gel seat (it's usually supplied with a cover as well but not really grippy) on my CRF250X,

while it is lower the the stock foam, it doesn't 'feel' any lower as it's also wider in the center section,

forcing your legs outwards instead of straight down.

On the stand after a wash. Shaved the seat a bit too much for my liking in the quest to get my foot better planted on the ground. Thinking of buying a durelle racing gel seat and a new seat cover for the bike.

Top tip .....ditch that restrictive stock muffler! Budget option is to just replace the muffler end cap (which is what I did)....remember to up the main jet size. This really wakes the bike up!
