Pines Fire

Recent fire closures in the Cleveland National Forrest which contain some of our local San Diego riding areas were not able to prevent the invitable. Looks like the "Pines Fire" started today in Pine Valley. Hopefully the resources that are available can get this fire under control quickly. The only info I could find had the fire near Corte Madera Ranch in Pine Valley. It started at 1PM today and has burned 600 acres so far.

They are saying that it appears the fire was started along a trail that illegal migrants use to come from Mexico. Even though the fire had nothing to do with Off-road vehicles, somehow we will get the blame and lose another riding area.

Try inciweb.org for all wildfire stuff. The site when it is up (most of the time)is very good to get info. They update a couple of times a day.?

Thats where most the fires start. I've been on some of these paths and you see a lot of trash and campfire spots. Damn!

This is a real bummer. Does anyone have an update to this? Does it sound like the whole place will be shut down or just parts of it like last time?
