new, but stock pipe to replace dual 1988. carb adjust?

i just fired up my rig and now it idles fine with the choke completely closed. when i hit the gas it revs a little but as soon as i flip it down a notch to halfway or more i begin to have issues.

dies completely unless i crank the throttle and flip the choke off.. any suggestions?

it's a completely stock rebuilt '88 with the exception that the factory dual (all the way to the muffler) exhaust was swapped for an '87 two-n-one header and IDS2 supertrapp (7 plates)
