I dress for the crash, not the ride.

2nd that!

I wear it all even if it's TOO HOT!!

And I don't ride with others that don't!

That is just because he is old school.

modern bull riders wear chest and spinal protection (and helmets) more and more often - kind of looks like he is wearing a vest in the pic btw.

I'm the rider.

Vest is why i'm alive today.  Hooves hurt.

Helmets were just starting to be a thing when I was riding.  I never cared for them, also never wore a "nice" one either... just shitty old hockey helmets.

I'd be open to trying a helmet again if/when I ride again... but that whole "learning to fall" thing helped me out more than gear would most of the time.  I definitely see the argument of more-gear-less-mobility vs. less-gear-more-mobility.  Everyone has to find their own balance between the two.

Hello guys,

Thank you so much for a lot of useful inputs from you.

I will consider to wear a neck brace next riding.

Cheers,

I think you absolutely should wear at least a helmet and goggles, MX boots, MX pants, and gloves. That's what always wear usually an MX jersey sometimes a t-shirt. I never believed in pads that much be but I've gotten monkey butt from riding in jeans when I started riding. MX pants solved that problem.
