02 yzf426 header red hot?

It should have run very crappy. With a Ti header, from a cold start in 75 degree weather, it takes under 2 minutes to get to a glow that's quite visible in light such as you would have a half hour after sunset.

They do get hot.. but how fast is it getting to this red stage 2 minutes from cold or 6 minutes? I worked on 450 with a carb that had it's slide plate put in up side down. (The flat side goes down) but the result was it would get hot real fast. ..and run a little crappy.

I have seen a few carburetors where people installed the slide plate upside down. Bikes spit flames like the Munster Mobile:eek:
