What did you do to your DRZ400 today?

Recommended Posts

Started working on the D Friday night, changed out the tank with Raptor petcock, installed white plastics, and the seat.
Then, I went for a ride with friends!
I have been on road bikes.... This is my first time riding dirt on a trail and I feel like I missed out my entire life!!

I grew up on dirt bikes. Bought a Ninja 636. Don't get me wrong, it was a rocket . But yeah , not the same as hittin a trail and leaving it all behind. Good on ya.

Road is fun but not worrying about cagers around you and focusing on yourself and enjoying scenery is something else!!

I began the project of fitting the buell headlight and a windshield on the DRZ. I have to give credit to Squadracorse on this forum for the idea. I was able to find the headlight on ebay for $30 bucks and the triumph windshield for $30 bucks as well. I am in the process of making up some carbon fiber plates which I will make a dashboard for the stock computer, ignition switch, volt/usb charger, and aux light switch. I'll upload some more pics as I progress.IMG_9092.thumb.JPG.32f49349a4dca10b3aadb992fbebf52e.JPGIMG_9093.thumb.JPG.e5594f9d10af78d33290d82e59092f39.JPGIMG_9094.JPG.1c1f01e2348f61574e15ef805dc41e30.JPGIMG_9091.thumb.JPG.a5dd55fa254bbdf3394df38425b060a2.JPGIMG_9088.thumb.JPG.d51faaa9b72053763062f4cdc7f3e26f.JPGIMG_9089.JPG.18f23dfaa367428da92c1a55a865b711.JPG

Nice! I just put the same fender on my Z. I had to widen the front holes I had drilled free-hand because the front was pointing to the ditch. I've noticed that you have put on some of the other accessories that I like. Such as Lightspeed. I want to get their rear rotor protector and caliper protector, but I've only seen it listed for the SM. Any idea if it will work on my S?
I can't swear to it but I would imagine they would fit the same.

Fitted the z400 Malone intake. Without touching the carburetor bottom and mid are noticable stronger. Hard to tell on top but definitely not any weaker. Tomorrow I'll bump the main up 5 points like the instructions recommend and see what she feels like.IMG_20180818_182214044_HDR.jpegIMG_20180818_201140882_HDR.jpegIMG_20180818_201151246.jpeg

R u still running this intake?  How does it look at carb connection?  Do u recommend?

Yes

I don't have a pic of that. It connects with a rubber couple and 2 clamps.

Yes.

The filter in your pic looks different from this one...

My filter is different. The kit is meant for a quad so the filter is alot longer. I found a K&N clamp-on similar in size the the K&N DRZ specific filter. It's RU-0660 if I remember correctly. You can buy the kit cheaper without a filter but you still need to remove and smooth the welded bracket. Or you could source your own intake tubing.
