cam sprocket

After the season is over I am going into the top of the motor and check the valve clearances. It would seem silly not to spend the money on the adjustable cam sprocket. What I wan't to know is there a down side to this? Is this opening up a reliability can of worms for me? This bike makes plenty of power but one could always use a little more.

there is no downside to the cam sprocket. You can run it in 2 positions. The first is stock and the second is in the advanced mode which is 5 degrees advanced. The advanced mode gives you to bottom end difference.

How many degrees would a tooth off be?
