450 EXC has chain guard keep or remove?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had any issues with keeping or removing the stock plastic chain guard that is mounted on the swingarm? I have an Aussie dualsport that came with this installed. While it does not look very dirtbike like, I am wondering if it has some functional reason for keeping it.

To increase the life of the chain and sprockets.

I race in quite a lot of sand and mud. It's a good idea imo. 🙂

A Michelin 140 /18 s12 chewed up mine while running high speeds with low pressure at a recent dual sport. Next I'll try the 130 s12, with a new crud guard.

If somebody has a guard in new condition I could always use an extra. :D
