YZF250 + 12oz Flywheel = better or worse starting?

Recommended Posts

i don't know about the flywheel, sorry.

for colder temps (like all of us just got hit with) try richening the jetting a hair (fuel screw out 0.25 turns). or you can choke it. or you can blip the throttle 3-4 times before the first kick. yes, i said blip it.

these bikes like a LOT of fuel when it is cold (engine cold too) and NONE when it is hot. at some point you may even consider going up 1 size on the pilot jet.

In general terms, adding flywheel should help as it provides inertia to keep the crank spinning. On the other hand interia also trys to keep the crank from turning in the first place until overcome by a shift kick of the operator. I don't think 12 oz would be that noticable.

For cold engine/cold weather, twist the throttle 3-4 times before the first kick. Usually will fire on the first jab.
