Anybody been to Motoland in La Potre, IN?

Recommended Posts

I found the website for Motoland near La Porte, IN, and it looks incredible!

Is it really as good as it looks? I go back to Indiana to visit family, but have never taken my bike with me. If it's worth the trip, I'd go up there just to ride that track.

Is it worth it? And when do they open in the spring?

They have an excellent grooming and flagging staff. They also have one spot with 3 step-ups that have mechanical flags by the faces of the jump and a flagger on the first and last one. The sand is perfect, not too soft or deep. They Groom and water it before every practice.

Sweet! I love the width of the track, and the multiple lanes for those who aren't jumping the big ones. I've been to some of those famous SoCal tracks from the magazine test, and they were a huge disappointment. Motoland looks waaay better. Now I GOTTA go!

Anyone know if they will be open in April?

See, that's the problem. I live so close to great tracks like Walnut that it's hard to make the drive to Indiana!

The only pics of motoland I have. Courtesy of Hogie. This is the "3rd bob" (if you haven't been there this is the last of 3 step-ups in a row)

May!!?? Damn, I'll be back our west by then, and it'll be harder to justify the drive. I was shhoting for April.

Nice pics. The soil consistencies looks good, especially compared to dusty hardpack.

Honestly, I think Motoland is a step above Walnut even (not taking anything away from that track). Motoland is in its own league....

You guys need to try it who haven't. I smell a TT day in the works.:applause:
