2006 CRF250R bog issue after ap mod??

Recommended Posts

I am working on a friends 06 250 that he bought new 2 years ago. It has always had a bog if you grab a handful of throttle quickly it falls on its face and never recovers unless you let off. I tried the AP mod which I am sad to say is flawed anyway, it made it worse, I timed the AP sqirt to just miss the slide and raised the float level, it is now better but not cured. Can jetting fix this? I live in Fla. I dont know if it needs a bigger pilot or a smaller pilot or if that will even help.

By the way in regards to the ap mod wiring the pump arm and set screw are ok but screwing the timing screw in all the way at WOT then wiring it is NOT the way to go, it throws the ap squirt timing way the crap off:banghead:

its too lean off the bottom end, from the pilot circuit. Fatten it up a bit with a larger pilot jet not smaller. pilot circuit controls 1/4 to 1/2 throttle opening then needle jet/jet needle controls 1/2-3/4, Main jet controls 3/4 to WOT.
