Head Pipe Mod

Has anyone tried the the MXA suggested mod of putting a 2007 head pipe on a 2008? This was in the March issue of the 10 best Mods for the 2008 CRF450R and said it gave better throttle reponse because the 2007 pipe was not tapered like on the 2008.

I have a 2008 and love it. I do like the instant throttle response on my buddy's 2008 KX450 so I'm my interest is peaked about maybe trying this inexpensive mod.

I have both 08' and 07' OEM CRF 450 systems and have measured them with a micrometer and the outside diameter measured identical. The reason I was measuing was because of what they said in MXA.

I question what they know though because the also said the rotors have new mounting tabs and they were really just confused by there own picture.

I would also question the difference because no other publications noted the supposed new "tapered" pipe.
