DRZ400E passenger pegs

I have a 2003 DRZ400E....I purchased a 2004 DRZ400S subframe and passenger pegs. I am sure this question has been answered but I:confused: cannot find the thread. What more will I need to do to swap out my E subframe for the S subframe? Will I need to purchase an S rear fender or will my E fender work? I have seen references that I will need to do some mods to the exhaust but I haven't seen specifics. Is it very difficult? I am sorry if this is a repeat question. Please help. Thank you.

IIRC you have it correct. The rear exhaust mount point is what you will have to deal with. The rear fender will work.

E fender will work with some minor adaptation, or you can buy a S fender since aftermarket plastics are cheap.

You will need to drill the lower threaded passenger peg mounting hole on the right side of the subframe.

The bolt will hold both the peg and the midpipe in place.

You will need to use a longer bolt but make sure it is not too long and dents your exhaust (happens with the Yosh Ti).

Anyone’s air box smell like gas ? Is this normal ? Air filter is bone dry but it reeks in there .... I’m assuming cause of the carb being semi filled with gas ??

So I’m reading these horror stories of the stock vacume operated petcocks failing and letting gas into the oil .... how many of you guys switched over and is it worth it to switch to manual ?

Hey guys . I feel like I post here way to much lol
anyway after having my bike kn it’s side overnight to fix a cracked stator cover .... I come to find out that I also accidentally left the pet cock in the prime position .... constant gas flow to carb ... now my oil smells strongly of gas ... my question is ... was it the bike being on its side that made the gas get into the oil or the prime position on petcock that made this happen ? Or both ? I didn’t ride it much at all after discovering... I assume. I should drain the oil obviously but any other suggestions ? Always appreciated -mark
