ktm 250sxf 2007 (aka jap bike killer)

Recommended Posts

ok this is the deal i recently brought a run out 2007 250sxf and it has done 23.1 hours. i put an hour metre, and a WB Aul pro on it before i first rode it.

today i went riding with three mates that race unlike me at my dads farm where there is a pretty good mx track and a long drag strip.

there was

alec: yama yz125 with pipe, head work, bud head, and suspension work

david: yama wr 250 with pipe, quickshot, and suspension work

chris: yama wr450 with pipe, quickshot and suspention work

me: ktm sxf250 with pipe and thats all i need

around the mx track i could turn inside every one attack bumps harder jump the jumps easyer just over all do most things better:applause: :D

then there was the drags

full race starts up a slight hill

ktm vs wr250= ktm winner:thumbsup:

ktm vs yz125= ktm winner:thumbsup:

ktm vs wr450= tied no one could get ahead

these were not infuenced by rider weight or skill all around same weight and i'm not a racer:prof:

overall the ktm250sxf is a bloody quick bike so any of you jap riders ride a ktm and your'll never go back:applause: ?

I have been riding Hondas most of my life and I still have four of them on my trailer.

Last year I decided that my 06 CRF450x was beating the crap out of me and I was going to try a 250cc thumper as my next bike. The idea was to reduce weight, lessen acceleretion forces and reduce deceleration stress.

I decided for an 07 SX-F 250 and I am still amazed more than one year later.

You have to do nothing to this bike!

If you get a Honda (or any other jap), you have to spend $1500 to make it right. Pegs, bars, controls, carburation, pipe, seat, suspension, ETC.

Apart from some enduro electronics and a kickstand, I have not spent a penny in anything else other than tires, fuel, filters and oil.

The seat is a "brick" but every component on this bike has an excellent level of quality, performance and looks.

Many components on the jap bikes have a lower standard of quality and leave a lot to be desired to the demanding rider.

This bike has all the components right from the day that you buy it and the motor has the best performance of anything in its class.

All you need to do is set the sag, fine tune the suspension settings to your liking/conditions and jet properly for your altitude/humidity.

What an amazing ride, right out of the box.

I see more "orange" in my future, you should too.

i got a crf250r and a ktm250sxf

i agree on the suspension but it just needs getting use to.

and if you got a honda, you would pay 1000 each time on rebuild. soo much im in process in selling mine

I suggest you go to a tuner who knows his WP business. And work together with him untill you get it right. There´s lots of tuners out there but only a handfull seems to really know their way around WP suspension.

I can also live with it. Little changes in fork oil height, rear spring rate and careful clicker alignment goes a long way.:prof:

That said i´m going to try out the new Öhlins Cartridge Kit & TTX Rear Shock - combo ... There´s always room for improvement !
