The San Manuel Indian Tribe that sponsers him.

Isn't that a fancy casino & resort located near San Bernardino?

It's not like he is saving some starving native American kids living in a mud hogan, They pay him....

Grade 3 AC separation is one that comes to mind. I don't care who you are or how bad ass you are...with a grade 3 AC sep you don't lift your arm let alone race a motorcycle.

Most of his excuses are little petty stuff.

I have watched Reed race with a broken leg , maybe you couldn't race with a

level 3 ac seperation . but im sure Chad could , maybe we breed them tougher

Chad brought it up himself.

I am not a Reed hater, but there always seems to be a excuse when he loses, whether its sickness, injury, back brakes going out etc. I don't have any specific examples since I don't make a journal of podium speeches.

And I'll take real boobs over fakes anyday, just call me old fashioned.

if he does it so much, it shouldnt be hard to find examples.

You are incorrect I can call him whiny forever........I don't have precise examples...I am not a stalker of Chad Reed and don't write down every example of him being a bitch.

You guys make me laugh , if Reed is always whinning and making excuses you guys should be able to give a couple examples straight off the top of your EMPTY heads

its plainly obvious to pretty much everyone on here besides you and mxjosh.

Come on now, why you mention me. I understand the haters point of view I just don't get why its so important to you.

Here's Ping's take on it. Interesting.

What five riders (in order and you cannot add yourself) do you notice or have noticed to be the most accommodating and friendly to fans and industry people around the pits? And, if you have the sack: What five riders (in order) do you notice or have noticed to be the most evasive, standoffish and unfriendly to fans and industry people?

Thanks,

Casey

Dear Casey,

Good question! And also a great way to get five different riders upset with me. It would be difficult to put them in a particular order but the five most approachable riders are Travis Pastrana, Jeremy McGrath, Grant Langston, Kevin Windham and Nick Wey (with honorable mentions going out to Nathan Ramsey, Andrew Short and Ryan Dungey). These are all great guys that would gladly take the extra time to have a conversation with you and listen to your “super-interesting” story about the one time you were standing in a corner at one of the nationals and you thought you made eye contact while you were cheering for them. They don’t have any idea what you’re talking about but they will still smile and nod politely, take a picture with you and sign whatever you ask them to. You really didn’t think I’d have the berries to list the bottom five in this category? You don’t know me that well….

The least approachable are Branden Jesseman, Chad Reed, Dusty Klatt, Jason Lawrence and James Stewart. It’s like a rare-bird sighting when you see James Stewart scurry from the confines of the Kawasaki team transporter to his private luxury motorcoach. And if you aren’t one of the first 150 fans to show up and get in line, well, you aren’t going to be meeting that guy—he’s much more shy than people realize.

It doesn’t mean that any of these riders are bad guys. In fact, most of them are really nice in a casual environment outside of the race track. But Jesseman doesn’t like to talk, Reed and Lawrence don’t want to be smothered by fans (unless they are hot, single girls) and until I found out Klatt was from western Canada I thought he didn’t like to socialize because he only spoke French.

The rest of the riders fall somewhere in the middle; a chasm where there is an often apathetic attitude towards the very people that make it possible for them to make money riding motorcycles.

i can understand that...i wouldnt want to be smothered by everyone and their grandmother at the races. but then again, if it wasnt for the fans they wouldnt be on TV and wat not. i watch it to watch racing, not to get to know the guy beneath the helmet.

that being said, Ryan Hughs is my favorite rider...for those of you thinking it was reed, ur wrong lol.

Reed always got an excuse for everything.

I for one belive he was sick did you watch how fast he faded? also he sounded like shit when Erin Bates interviewed him, but no doubt he better get turned around if he is to win the championship.

Most people who really follow the sport like to get to know the men beneath the helmets, guess it makes people feel more apart of the sport or into it. (Including myself)

Fans is what makes racing, Reed doesn't seem to understand this.

I second that. He is a great rider(though never in Js or RCs League).

Windam is a great example he is one of the fan favorites for sure

even if he is not as fast as RC or JS, KW an all time great.

I think we all can agree that Reed is a damn great rider. Smooth and makes few mistakes. The thing that I see the most is that he gives up. As soon as someone passes him he stops giving 100%. I have seen it more than once. He get a holeshot leads until James or Ricky passes then it's slow down and settles for third. Maybe he was giving 110% just to hang and could only hold on for third, only Reed knows the answer to that.

I was actually looking forward to seeing a change for the better in Reed this season. He could have shown us all that he could be a like able and admired champion, but has has failed miserably at that.

Dungy for Champ in 2009!!!!
