Vibration Located?

Recommended Posts

I posted about a month ago about an engine vibration on my DR650 possibly related to the counterbalancer or the clutch. Subsequent observation has lead me to believe that the vibration was clutch related.

Sooo.. this weekend I did a clutch teardown and fount that there was some slop in the clutch basket assembly. The rivets connecting the primary drive gear and the basket are loose and allow ~.015" slop between the gear and the basket. Am I correct in assuming that this could be the cause of my vibration. I also found that after removing the bent washer holding the assembly to the countershaft the large nut was only finger tight.

Also can anyone direct me to a good source for a new basket assembly or even better a reputable machine shop in northern CA that can drill out the rivets and drill the gear end basket to accept new oversize ones.

Thanks
