shortening fork springs to stiffen them

not sure if its my typical kiwi enginuity:thumbsup: or just that im running out of money:cry: but ive read about chopping down fork springs to stiffen them up and it seems quite a common and accepted thing to do( if done properly).has anyone done this to their drz forks .im planning on increasing the spring rate by 10% from .44 to .48:ride:
