Southwick Practice

Does anyone have any info on the southwick practice on the 30th. Start time? Cost?

I will be there :excuseme::confused:

I'm going as well slow guy on a YZ250F #780

Practice runs from 9am to 5pm and it will like be broken into classes the entire day.

I have a non-structural fracture in my pelvis so I probably won't make it. I'd like to hook up with anyone that goes if I go!

I won't make my final decision on whether or not I am going until Saturday afternoon. I feel pretty good today and should feel better by this weekend. I'll post here about the decision and we'll have to meet somewhere before we get inside the place.

Make sure you don't go with beat rounded-off knobby tires. You will have a miserable time without sharp-edge dig required to get around the place without a ton of effort. It is a SANDY place, to say the least. Also, don't run too little sag and make sure your forks are down to OEM in the clamps (if you raised them to turn on a tight track or something).

I think it's going to be a bit wet, too. Rain in the forecast and cold at night so the water won't drain through the ice. Could be ugly and rutted on the track, but it's good practice for that stuff. It's not sunny every day we ride, unfortunately.

Ill see you guys on sunday.

#321 on a crf450

I'll be there.

Ill be there #108 on 250 SX-F

I am hoping to be there but I still need to fix my front brake. Novice 387v

Look at the wash out from the Bridseye view!!! I hope that fix that, I wondering when that was taking?

I exchanged email with the Track Manager and here is what he had to say...

Not sure if he's pulling my leg, but it will be dry????? (start at the bottom and read up.

No it will be dry . we will not have water.

Great, is the rest real muddy?

The track will be open on sun, The couple frozen spots will not stop us we may have to go around them. see you sun.

Hi, I'm planning to ride the OP on Sunday with a couple buddies and before we make the trip from upstate NY we want to make sure that you are still planning to be open. Is the track still frozen and very hard or has is loosened up yet?

How much mud do you have?

Looking forward to riding there!!!

Sand drains pretty well. Even with rain Friday the track should be dry on Sunday. I raced there early last year and the said there was some frost, I never noticed.

Nice, I hope its dry and not all mud!

Anyone in that area know if there getting any snow right now?

I'm about 15 miles south, no snow.

Please tell me no rain either?

We should all meet up there and do a TT lap (just make it slow so I can keep up)

it rained today but nothing that would ruin southwick....

Do you need proof of insurance in order to practice this sunday?

Howdy! I'm looking for early season riding within driving distance. Ontario is still 4-6 weeks from riding and I'm itching....
Advanced single trail rider, open to medium+ difficulty 4x4 / ATV trails, doesn't have to be single trail only.
I'm an hour from the border, Ottawa, and good to drive 7-8 hours max to get a day or 2 of riding far as Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, up the coast to Maine
I've found the following locations so far that might fit the bill: RAC/FRO - 175$ yearly pass only - daily pass coming in May AOAA - similar to RAC/FRO - good option!
Any on this list you would remove?
      Did I miss any?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone around New Jersey heard of Lepis Land? I found people talking on other forums about it and how riding there is by donation only. Does anyone have anymore information about it or a phone number to contact them?

10/17/08 UPDATE! I posted more photos on page 2. Not all pictures are on page 1. I will constantly be adding more photos as I go along.
Many of you have heard of my starting/idle problems with the 610. Carburetion has been ruled-out time and time again. I sensed something else was going on. The engine has never wanted to idle down, sounded like there was a load on it even in neutral. Since I had metal filings in my oil when I first got it, I have now decided to overhaul it and make everything ship-shape. It turns out that I was correct- there is some valve damage that I will talk about later.
I don't like to take apart dirty engines and get the dirt inside 'em

      A little gross.

      My cleaning station:

      A little better now

      Clutch removal:

      after removing springs

      bottom of pressure plate

everything looked decent as far as wear

      after removing plates

      basket after removing hub

      Area after removing basket.

Removing the starter gear with snap ring pliers

More to come. I'm uploading pictures of the case splitting, etc...
I'll try to ease off on the photo-over-obsession. The next batch of info/photos will be a little more interesting.
Comments and suggestions are appreciated. I'm already ordering parts from George so before I know it, I'll be just waiting on new parts (after a little more cleaning.
