XR 600 R Running rich

I have a 1997 XR 600 R with a slip on Supertrapp IDS 2 racing model pipe with 16 disks. I took out the restriction in the air box and installed a high flow K&N air filter. I also put in a 165 main jet and adjusted the pilot screw from 2 turns out to 2 1/2 turns out. The bike is totaly sick I have a hard time keeping the front tire on the ground. :) It runs awsome but it's running a little rich. I was told these bike are ment to run on the lean side do to emissions. Is this true or should I keep it rich? The last thing I want it to blow this thing up.

Thanks For the help :D
