Clymer Manual Carb Table Question

In my Clymer for the DRZ400 on page 181 is a table that list the Pilot mixuture turns out as 3.5. Does this represent the turns out from being totally screwed in or from where is starts to hesitate as you turn the screw in from the center ?

From totally screwed in. by the by, 35 turns is a lot. Instead, do the pilot test per the sticky

I did the pilot test. To the best of my knowledge, I have is set correct.....three wholw turns from all the way in and about 1 turn from where it starts to hesitate. The prson before me had it at two turns from all the way in and it was popping. THe extra trun seems to have helped.
