Are the air scoops for the rad more then cosmetic. I have been riding for without them for awhile.
They come off when rad guards go on anyway:thumbsup:
Do you mean the shrouds that cover the sides of the radiators or the louvered pieces that sit on the face of the radiators? The shrouds help scoop in cool air when running slow, helping keep the bike from over heating. The louvered pieces on the faces of the radiators are supposed to protect the radiators from rocks and dirt. If you ride in the dirt, both are useful things. Replacing the louvered pieces with real guards is a good thing but most guards do not protect the faces, only the edges. So a combination of the two would be good.

Full frontal protection with side protection should it be dropped. Stops the rads from being bent.
The shrouds are helpful for slow riding. Any speed above 10 mph thaey are not needed. If you never go that slow, then taking them off will not be a problem, in fact, high speed stability will improve as will top speed.
