I want to change it over to supermoto style. Not to race, just to ride to work and around town. Knobbies on the street suck. What size wheels do i need for the front and rear? what size tire can i fit on my bike? I dont want any tire rub for the rear.

Also what size are the axles on my bike front and rear?

I have just fitted the following to my 06 525 EXC.

(KTM Part Numbers)

58310050044 sprocket support x1 $130.19

54610459000 rubber dampers x6 $31.44

58413014000 Brake caliper carrier (320mm) x1 $103.94

58309060000 Front brake disc (320mm) x1 $169.76

5840900164430 Front wheel 3.5": x 17" x1 $499.00

5841000134430 Rear wheel 4.25"x 17" x1 $494.99

50033029014 14T front sprocket x1 $25.33

58310151040 40T Rear sprocket x1 $62.89

54810060200 Rear brake disc 220mm x1 $133.34

I fitted Michelin Pilot Powers

120/70-17 front $110.95

160/60-16 rear $132.99

Not an inexpensive exercise! But well worth the dosh as the bike is awesome for around town or freeway use.

It takes about 1 hour to convert back to off road use.

I have a complete set of plastics for off road so I can take all the lights etc off as a unit.

I also fitted an Acerbis "Cyclops"headlight unit which was an easy retro-fit and looks bad arse as well! ($110.00)

The only problem I have struck is locating the magnet for the speedo pick-up as there is no corresponding hole in the new disc.

Either drill one or epoxy it on. Take the smaller dirt rotor, lay it on the larger SM rotor and line up the mounting holes, then mark the larger rotor with a sharpie where the magnet mount hole is on the smaller rotor and drill! Make sure you have a hardened bit, those disk are really hard.

Sorry for the EPIC 5 year thread revival, but does anyone know where I can get the hard parts supermoto wheels with brakes [rotors] for $900 as stated above? I've been searching high and low, and I cannot come close to a deal like that.
