Fcr MX help

I just installed my New Fcr From TT on my 2008 drz400 sm. The Bike Dies when you punch the throttle but runs good if you ease in to it. I set it up they way it said too. 160 main jet, 200 main air jet, EMN neddle clip 3, 45 pilot jet, and fuel screw 2 turns out

My elevation is 1580 feet. and I have a full yoshi RS2 and a 3x3 mod

Any Ideas?????

So if you take off from a stop it'll die if you try to accelerate too hard?

Does it die with a hard acceleration in all gears?

it will bog a bit if the RPM isnt high enough

Do you mean when you blip the throttle from idle w/ the clutch pulled in it dies, or after you actually get rolling? If it's the former, try turning the idle up just a pinch.

Did you check how long the accelerator pump is squirting for?

If it is too long it can cause a bog on acceleration.

And did you do the o-ring mod?

there were some fcrmx carbs that needed the pilot air screw removed.im not sure if the problem had been fixed but i would remove it and try again

Yes, you need to remove it from the intake bell:

If this is an on going thing with the new FCR's from the TT store maybe it would be a good idea to include a note in the supplied instructions. ?

the instructions could use several updates,however its been discussed at least 100 times here.

yep,i ment pilot air jet.although you do need to unsrew it to get it out.my bad:worthy:

I removed the pilot air jet and did the O-ring mod.

the bike runs much better now but still not 100%

when I crack the throttle open In first or second gear it seems like theres about a half second delay till the power kicks in.

Also the exhaust Pops when down shifting. Is this ok or is my jetting off?

I was having similar problems, especially with the exhaust popping on deceleration under load. They say some popping is ok but mine was annoying. I went up one size on the pilot jet (47) and it solved all of my issues.
