Hey I just bought an Xr650R and need to replace my tires. I has 120/70r17 front and 160/60r17 rear any sujestions on the make of tires I should go for. I dont do any off road its all street.

I dont think michelin sells the 2 ct's as low as a 160 do they? its only like 180-200:confused:

I just got the Dunlop Roadsmart on the rear (it comes in 150 too), same dual compound technology as the 2ct, runs great on street. (140 bucks shipped).

Regular pilot powers are PERFECT! Traction is fantastic, you can lay the bike over so far it is unbelievable. If you corner foot out style you can "practically" drag your bars. Almost look like you"re riding a berm on a mx track on the road!

I ride some dirt roads and was wondering how they worked.

I am currently using Michelins but am going to try the Conti Force supermoto tires next

I still have a conti up front, and a pilot power on the rear...the pilot has a much better lean angle than the conti, there both awsome, but i really like the pilot powers better:thumbsup:

The conti sm was great, but the commuting killed it in less than 2500 miles on the rear.

The 650R eats tires from all the torque it creates, idk about you but my brain cant controle my wrist, if your like me you will need rear tires often:busted:

Pirelli MT60R radials are awesome. I run them on easy off road jeep trails , gravel roads and sandy trails as well as twisty pavement. Fantastic tires!

I ride them very hard and got 2,500. miles on a set. The rear tread wore out on the sides before the bottom. The front tread blocks start cracking and seperating at 2,500 miles so you need to replace it as well. They are super smooth on the pavement and have great wet road traction.

Dennis from the DRZ forum started a nice thread about these tires. Seems like they do really well on road in all conditions (Pilot powers they are not, but still great). They seem to do really well off road as well. I will definately be getting these for my next tires. Many of the twisty paved roads I ride have an occasional pot hole or sand/gravel strewn accross the road. These tires will be great for wet/dry traction, dirty roads and the occasional light trail.

Might also want to consider the Pirelli Diablos on top of the PPs

You can also get a front 2CT / rear regular PP combo.

One thing to, they dont make 2ct tires in a 150, so some motards cant run them. Just an FYI
