Parts cleaner?

Hey, I need to clean out my engine again, since my crank bearings exploded, there's particles EVERYWHERE!

ok so I had my brother take my engine cases to work, and use the parts cleaner on them, that wont hurt them right? Like nothing will happen with oil in there right?

I was wondering because I need to have him do my head also, and want to make sure it wont hurt the coating on the valves or anything?

For the little things, can I use brake cleaner? Like de-glazing the cylinder, cleaning up the bottoms of the valves, that stuff? Or is it a no-go?

Thanks fellas!

Caleb

I would be sure and watch for anything rubber or plastic (seals or o-rings). Be sure and read the info on the can.

You mean just for the brake cleaner right?

To be honest, I'm not sure which cleaner harms rubber/plastic (brake/contact/carb), I try and take all those parts out or at least avoid them with anything I use.
