what year did honda switch to alum frames for there 250 2 stroke? i thought 97 was an alum frame and all i can find on the year points to it being tru but who would know better then the good ol' thumpertalk boys he;s telling me this is a 97 what u think? http://raleigh.craigslist.org/mcy/658386932.html

1997 was the first production year

The bike in the ad is '96 or older.

thanls that what i thought. that does look like a steelie right im not going crazy am i?

awsome +1 to both for the fast responce

Looks to be no newer than a 95. 97 had aluminum frame, 96 steel frame but the side plates were a little more triangular, 95 had side plates that were a little more square

the bike in the ad is a 92-94 cr250. from 95-96, honda used different side panels, and the shape of the radiator shroud air inlets were slightly different...

BTW $1500 seems way high for a bike in that condition...$500 seems like a fair price...

You're not crazy. It's a steel frame.

sweet i love this site.... i was gonna trade my boat for another bike and im planing to pull at least 1300 for the boat. ima stay away from this cuz the guys telling me its a 97 for sure
