Yamaha may release a street legal Motard?

Yamaha has been gauging market reaction to a production super motard for a couple of years now. Several rumors indicate this machine will hit the market in 2003, both in the U.S. and in Europe. Expect it to be street-legal, with race kit parts available.

Super motard racing has been booming in Europe for several years now and it is beginning to take off in the United States. Yamaha has done a good job of jumping into new markets ahead of its Japanese rivals, and its timing with a quality super motard machine could be just right.
