Yet another threat to OHV in CA

Recommended Posts

was this the article talking about the ammount of pollution caused by ohv's? I wrote the author and asked if they are going to ask the california senate to regulate our driving for non necessities such as going to the movies, going to the store to buy beer, going to visit family, family vacations, going to see your children graduate from college, going out to dinner, lunch, breakfast, visiting our national parks, driving to work, driving to home depot.....NO SOCIALISM

Its nice to see liberal arts degrees being put to good use, writing more useless papers that never bother to state all the facts or make important comparisons. Whole lot of fluff there and no scientific comparison, just spouting numbers with no reference. When people try to pull that crap in classes here, you respond with "No Reference!" (Well when I am force to take a class to be "Well Rounded" :ride: ). Then they either actually get into the details that are important or they STFU. ?

These weenies have a little too much time on their hands.

As desert racing kid's in the 60's, we referred to them as dope smokin', pill poppin', long haired, pinko, communist faggots who have never seen the desert except in pictures.

Of course, we were just kidding...and, you could never refer to anyone in the current PC environment like that.

Seriously, these idiots believe that if you just got rid of all the people and their activities on the earth, the planet would be in better shape. Of course, no one would be around to enjoy it.

Another thing while I'm ranting. Obviously, they are unaware that dust is good for you. It cleans out the respiratory system. The poisonous products attach themselves to the nose rocks that can be removed by hand.

You have got to keep laughing to avoid going postal.

good for you. Call those fockers on their BS!

I don't know if I can handle reading the article... I need to relax, maybe take a nice walk and prepare myself to be pissed off.

Unfortunately a gullible public of which a majority are not OHV'ers may just buy this garbage. You throw a little global warming (not lately), pollution, scarred hillsides, and "un-necessary" fuel burning in front of a bunch of non-OHV'ers and guess what. We loose.

We (the OHV community), needs to hire a damn good public relations firm to set out painting the culture and the hobby for what it is. If not the leftists will do it for us. An you see what they think.

So easy to make a argument with one sided propaganda.

I just drove the 5 today, visibility was about a 1/4 mile at times.

Most wind I have seen in a while, dust everywhere. According to

this article that was a major pollutant. All the programable signs

gave a Amber alert on a 300 M and "click it or ticket". No mention

of excessive health threats. Seems that they are making up pollutants

in the form of dust to stack the numbers.

So any worthy study could easily refute this crap.

Took me 5 minutes to come up with one.

That makes me sick :ride:. We have absolutely no say in this whole thing. We have nobody who wants to stand up for us becasue we have no scientists or researches who want to do the work to help "polluters". The offroaders omit about 42,000 vehicles worth of pollution.....puhleez. Were sitting ducks because we cant stop them from publishing these so callled "facts" they believe in. We need to find a better way then just showing up to meetings ?

Do I read this correctly, are you serious!

We are a serious force! We are strong.

Real research is used all the time. They are being

countered and we win major court battles, we

have saved spots.

This is very expensive, you have volunteers

whom administrate monies to lawyers on our behalf

and whom do extremely well.

YOU HAVE TO JOIN BRC AND CORVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make a small donation to the legal fund! If your a kid

and can only do 5 bucks, that makes you a viable asset

to all of us. Do the right thing and join!

Okay, I'm joining both groups and mailing my contribution ?

I'm sick of the media and 'journalists' spinning stories and presenting them as fact. Here's an example :

- those 'energy saving lightbulbs' have up to 5 milligrams of MERCURY in each one. Mercury is toxic. So what happens if you break one of the CFL energy-efficient bulbs? The EPA has a whole article dedicated to 'Site Clean-up Process for Mercury '

Step One? Open windows, gather pets and leave the room for at least 15 minutes.

http://www.epa.gov/mercury/spills/index.htm#flourescent

Hmmm..... and how many of those bulbs will end up in a lanfill un-broken?

Okay, hubby's on my case to get going. Toyhauler's in the driveway. I'm just lagging because we just heard that it's snowing at our destination. Really glad we changed our tires, new knobbies will probably come in handy. Why in the hell we're driving 3 hours to be in the snow when the weather will be perfect closer to home - I don't know :bonk::ride:

Oh and check out this guys' blog ....... very interesting reading and he backs everything up with fact. Often using the very same studies that the greenies use. Plus, he's very funny.
