EDDIE, starting point help

2005 HONDA CRF 450R

900 FT ELEVATION

TEMPATURE BETWEEN 50 AND 90

SENDING HEAD OUT TO RHC FOR STAINLESS VALVES AND TO BE PORTED

NEW STOCK PISTON AND RINGS

NEW MRD LOW TO MID PIPE W/ QUIET INSERT

Bike is currently jetted stock, 168 main 42 pilot, NGGQ needle 4th position from the top, fuel screw 1 7/8ths out.

I bought a JD JET KIT BEFORE I knew these mods were going to be done. Can I use it or should I send it back.

What jetting do you recommend I start with?

Thanks for any response.

JD stuff works great, but that bike will run fine with a 165 main, and the fuel screw a touch richer, maybe 2 2 1/8 turns out. Is that the standard needle position? Seems like 3rd clip is standard.

Don't bother Eddie right now, he's working on my bike!

Thanks for the response Leardriver. I'm in no hurry, I haven't even sent the head out yet. No offence ,but I just wanted to hear from an expert which you may be but I don't know that.

Eddie keep working on Leardrivers bike and after your done if you can verify

Leardrivers opinions I would appreciate it.

Again ,no offence Leardriver , thanks for the reply.

lol,i fixed leardrivers bike so now i can answer.

i personally really like the NGGQ,but you cant go wrong with a jd kit.
