Difference In Rear Brake Caliper?

I recently bought a rolling chasis of a WR400 (99) for the super moto wheels and have changed them over to my WR400 (02), thing is I couldnt use my standard caliper so had to use the one off the 99. I have had a look around and have seen places say that both the 99 pads and the 02 are the same but obviously on the bike they look different. Can someone clear this up for me?
