WR/YZ Clutch Springs

Recommended Posts

ok ryan, first you have to tell us what year your WRF is; then, whether you believe that the pull is heavier than a YZF; and finally, is there a problem getting it into gear (e.g. clutch properly adjusted but not engaging completely) or some other issue?

note that there is a "washer fix" for WRF's which reduces pull...

but first i suggest that we figure out what your problems are before applying random solutions.

Actually My WR is an 01, and Right now I really need reduced clutch pull. I have noticed sometimes it feels like my clutch is dragging. I currently have a friends DRZ clutch perch and lever on my bike with a Motion Pro T2 line and the pull is 10 times better that it was before. Please let me know if you think I would benefit from the upgrade, and what exatly needs to be done.

get a beer.

click "search" in the page header.

type in "washer fix", change "date range" to "all posts"

press "submit"

read and learn while drinking beer.

you could start here...

and

you can do and undo the "washer fix" in about 15 minutes, total. just watch out that you don't drop the little guide pin that helps aligns the clutch cover -- it will roll under your workbench and it will take you like 10 more minutes to find it. 🙂

The YZF clutch springs are longer than the WRF clutch springs. I did not notice any real difference in clutch pull. But I also found that the YZF springs did not fix my grabby clutch. The washer fix did fix my grabby clutch but I still seem to have to use the quick adjuster on he clutch perch quite often to aliviate my grabby clutch problems.
