CRF 80 Jetting and gearing suggestions

I have one of my sons friends CRF 80's over here. He has a Big gun evo pipe, Rev box, twin air filter and opened up air box. What do you guys suggest for a starting point on the jetting? He races this bike and the stock gearing seems to low. What have you guys experienced with these bikes?

Thanks,

Rich

Somebody....

what kind of racing does he do? if it is a motocross style then id go up a tooth or two in the rear and keep the front the same size....for jetting, you are probably going to have to go up a size or two in the main and pilot...jsut a good point to start out on...good luck with everything!

He races it on a motocross track.

then yeah id go up a tooth or two on the rear and do the same for jetting

I've been trying to get my friends 230 jetted correct. Honda really restricts these things!

haha yeah...it was a nightmare jetting my old 250f...it was like bogg city i had an 05 crf

If the stock gearing is already too low, why would you suggest going lower? If you drop a couple teeth or two and tune the carb for the mods it should pull well.

I got the new jets today. I ordered a rear sprocket with 2 less teeth. I will report back this week.
