The fork guard decal was stock. The swingarm decal I ordered

from Yamaha (12 or 14 bucks). The front fender tip and

fender side decals I ordered through Yamaha as well. They

are not for the WR250R, so a bit of trimming was required

to fit the WRR fender. Not bad, just a small template and

a bit of cutting.

Thanks for the compliment. I really like this bike. It is a great

EFI track/trail bike now. A lot of low and mid range with the

mods. Pulls really good now.

Havent had it in soft sand much, but I dont like it either. The

bike does really good on the intermediate to hard terrain. Might

just be the tires though. As far as power goes it does fine, but

again I have a gear change too.

BTW.....the numbers on the side were dedicated to my

twin sons.

The whole reason I have the bike was to share the time

with them. Their birthday is Jan 14.....So 114 it was.

Just thought it was only fitting since this whole thing

was because of them.

Sand is Ok. It's no better or worse than any other bike.

You have to have the tires and gearing set up for it.

And I learned that the hard way - keep it winding.

I'm having trouble understanding why one would buy a WR250R and then make it a off-road only bike. Beautiful bike there with the FMF pipe, but if being road worthy isn't important ... why choose the WR250R. There are certainly better [all] dirt bikes including yamaha ones. Can you pull off and put on the lights at a moments notice or something ... what am I missing ?

4,000-5,000 mile oil changes

26,000 mile valve checks

100-200 miles in a day would be rare for him riding offroad only with his kids. So probably literally really only need to change the oil once a year maybe twice if he rides all the time.

And if he ever changes his mind he can just throw blinkers and stuff back on it and drive it on the street. These days most states its a lot harder to take a full dirt bike and make it street legal.

Ah. I now see the 2nd picture of that same bike in this thread. It appears he can put the 'blob' (the rear lights and plate) back on at a moments notice and I can't be positive, but are turning signals and [folding] mirrors built into those hand guards ? That exactly what I want to do !! Somebody give me a link to those hand guards if they are what I think. I want to be able to drive mine to a motocross track practice/race, and leave .... all with just a little wrenching to get it race ready and a little more to return home. If I'm not the fastest one on the track ... oh well. I have just as much fun using the slowest riders as berms.

the second bike is Steveakus he has the Powermadd handguards with the mirrors.

You can also go to the DRC tail light kit/blinkers in the rear, and or add blinkers to the handguards with LEDs or the Zeta's which cleans it up a bit

I have the DRC tail lights and two sets of new smaller blinkers from wheelingcyclesupply.com, but it might be 10 days before I have enough time to splurge regarding the time to do the job. Thanks for the handguard link, that's awesome. I'm guessing they are road legal ... ?
