stock filter

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what Yamaha uses for oiling the stock filter?

I've still got a lot of No-Toil cleaner and oil from my last bike and want to use it with the Yamaha filter. Will the No-Toil do the job or do I need something else to do the initial cleaning? Thanks

I think youll be ok with using the notoil on the stock filter? I am not positive however.

Thought I read somewhere that No-Toil cleaner would only breakdown their own oil. Maybe I should actually stop being lazy and check the bottle

You'll have to use kerosene or something to clean the filter initially but after that you can use the No-Toil products. It's just a foam filter.

Thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking. Just needed a push to get going.
