Nice Ride Today on the WRR

Recommended Posts

I cut out of work a little early today, It was kind of slow and for me,

I got's to take what I can get when I can get it!

Started from the house a little after lunch and took a 10 mile cruise

up into the hills. No pavement shots of the ride up and back, I waited

until there was dirt under the wheels before busting out the camera.

Here are some pics of the ride, hope you enjoy!

Busy two lane roads to quiet country roads to little one lane roads

and then dirt. This is a pic looking down off the mountain at my first

stop towards Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz. I started down next to the ocean

south of there.

One more, a little south swell running today.

Next stop, a spooky little lagoon up in the woods. A little tree trunk

to park the bike next to.

Nice pics ScottMac, I get over to Watsonville every once in awhile for pie at Gizdich ranch.

I have always wondered if I can go from Hazel Dell over to Browns Valley Road then to Eureka Canyon road to Hinckley Creek and then over to Old San Jose Rd to Aptos?

I want to find a nice DS ride from Uvas Rd over to the coast and back. I know some of those roads have gates on them, and want to avoid 17, 9 and 1 at all cost...

There are a few guys I know that would be up for some easy pace DS rides in the south bay...

something like this:

Yes, I usually ride solo around here. I saw a couple of guys up there

today riding - one guy poaching the fire roads on a quad.

I haven't ventured up Hinckley Creek road to date, but that would

definately put you over to Olive Springs/Old San Jose road if you can

go through.

You can also cut off of Eureka Canyon on Rider road to Buzzard Lagoon

road. If Hinckley can't get you through you can still do Eureka Canyon

all the way up to Summit and then come down Old San Jose Road, just

a little longer.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

California is very nice in many spots, l also prefer to ride alone.

I do a lot of solo riding myself, I'll be taking a trip from Salt Lake City to Twin Falls, ID (600+ miles round-trip mostly dirt) this weekend on the WRR to watch an airshow, couldn't get any of my friends to ride along, I'll post photos but the beach doesn't look the same.

Nice pics, makes me want to get the bike and go for a ride now.

While I ride in a group most of the time I dont mind going on my own sometimes because you can go where you want and stop and take pics when you want.

Yeah, that's one of my favorite areas to go play around

in. I grew up in Corralitos and used to ride all through

the hills up there on my XR75 when I was a kid.

Let me know if you're going to do a ride through these

parts one of these weekends and I'll try to hook up

with you.

I know the Santa Cruz Ridge Runners have property

up off of Ormsby Cut-off where they ride and sure would

like to meet up with some of them. I've seen them

down at Corralitos Market in a big group all on Dual Sports

getting ready to head up Eureka Canyon.

Unfortunately I think their property was hit hard by the Summit fire.

There are a few DS riders on SBR (south bay riders) that are itching for a group DS ride. I want to scout out a good goat worthy loop that everyone can enjoy...Need to have a couple of stops for gas and a good place for lunch... 100 to 200 miles max

Here are some pics of that fire you mentioned...

I may be up for that in the future, but right now that would be a little long for me and I may slow everyone down more than they would like. On McKean road I don't go much past the speed limit, and I am pretty cautious in turns, especially the blind ones.

I ride with my son in the dirt, but don't ride much road except to work and back. I have ridden out to around Uvas and back to Almaden solo. I am reluctant to go too far solo.

I have an id on South Bay Riders, but I hang out here more than there.

Wow those trails look so nice! The trails around here are ruts roots and turtle heads (rocks sticking up) I spend most of my time in first gear. I would be too scared to try to haul my camera around to get a few pics.

Anyone know of a place like that near Missouri

Great pics
