Thanks for the reply. Seems like a decent alternative to spending hundreds of dollars on a new seat. At least to get some more time in the saddle. The stocker is definitely not plush.

Well I replied when i got my bike a few months ago and i think its time for another...... buy a skid plate folks. I got around 12 feet of air on a jump and bottomed out on a rock. Sad day for the dr and me. Left side of case was pushed up about half inch IMG_3706.jpgIMG_3712.jpg

No skid plate, a must.

Another one joins the DR clan!

I made some garage cleaning and traded off a XR500 and an old moped and got myself a 1990 DR650RS, i would have prefered a electric start but i got the weight above my foot so kickstart is no problem.

It has 33k miles on it, is there anything i should keep a lookout for except change the gas and oil in it?

Its been started about once a year but hasnt left the garage since 2008.

I thought I’d jump in with a picture of my air cooled girl here a 1999 DR350.  She may be old, but at 52 years old so am I.  I ride this bike a lot on single trail here in the Northeast. I spend a lot of time at Thomaston dam in Connecticut or we trailer this and my sons DRZ250 up to Maine where there are miles and miles of legal ATV trails.  I’ve put drop links on it and reshaped the seat I don’t weigh a lot so I had to adjust to me.  Had the rear shock re-valved and sealed this past summer but other than that this bike runs flawlessly. Maybe it’s a little porky but there’s nothing like the dependability of these old air cooled bikes.
