XT 350/general 4 stoke question.

Recommended Posts

I have a 89 xt 350. I am having a little issue with it. I use to be a 2-storke guy, so all I know is WFO. When I hammer into the throttle, or get into hard in any way, it is breaking up really bad above 50%. If I ease into it it does just fine. I really mean ease into it. I have got a brand new plastic fuel tank, and have cleaned out the carbs. I dont think it is a carb/fuel issue. Not sure though. Someone told me it is an ignition issue. Just want to see what you guys thought. Thanks for any help in advance.

I would double check the secondary, make sure the diaphragms are in good condition and the jets and passageways are clear. As I am sure you remember from your 2S days, a plug can also cause high rpm break up.
