stock 400S sprockets how many teeth??

Recommended Posts

Thanks guys,

Can you still wheelie in 2nd if I drop to a 41 t rear sprocket? Or better to stay w/ 44? Cause I don't highway ride and like to wheelie.....city/backroads riding for me.

Thanks.

If you drop to 15/41, then you will need 110 link chain instead of the stock 112 links. As far as wheelies go, 15/44 is better for sure.

You might like 14/44 better for your uses.🙂

I'd go 14/47 if I never ran the freeway... much better on the trail, too

I'm running 15/47, and change out the front sprocket to 14 when I truck it to the riding areas

For tight single track I run 14/49, open single track 14/47

And ya the above post on OEM sizes is dead on 🙂

I was running 13/48 for tight single track, but this year I'm running 14/48 for off road, and 14/44 for streets.

13/48 for off-road and 15/44 for the street

sometimes 14/44 for dual sport events

Aww man...I was just on youtube lookin at DRZ videos and read a comment where a guy said with the right mods "like jetting" and the correct gearing the drz will do like 120 or 130 mph. Haha...
