To MX-Rob and the host of others who have ever bothered to post how-to's, tweaks and their experiences with the stock DR carbs.

I searched and wound up spending a couple of days going through the things I found before deciding on how to tackle the stock carb on my 650. What I wound up doing was drilling the slide, shimming the needle .030", adjust the float and just generally sorting out the carb. The bike runs great now, starts at the touch of the button and the throttle response is very crisp... and it no longer dies when I'm on the brakes. I'm really happy with the way things have turned out!
