What causes my trike to backfire?

Recommended Posts

Alright, I bought a 1982, 185cc trike (honda) 🙂

It rides pretty good, BUT every like 1 minuite it will have a few loud backfires, What causes this? The guy said he broke the o-ring on the jet and put a new one on that wasnt exactly a perfect fit. Maybe its that, he also told me to get a mechanic to adjust the timing.

How would someone know how exactly to adjust the timing without a manual.

So I am guessing it is the fuel/air mixture that is wrong

any help would be GREAT

Thanks!
